This song is pretty straight forward. Its pretty much about deception. (as always its a genral thing) Believing in something or trusting someone or some thingand being let down, promises never kept. We have had so many experiances where we thought that someone cared and and gave us their word that they would help and be their for us. When we needed them the most they were never there.By their betrayal we find yourself stuck in a situation and can seem to get out so we cry out to Christ asking him to pull us out of our plights when we have nothing left.
